It’s Thanksgiving week here in the States. With our eyes all watching what is happening around the world and our ears attuned to “breaking news” here and abroad, we realize we live in increasingly unstable times. This last week I read and heard the words “World War III” and “World War Isis” being bantered about and I could not help but think of the chaos and destruction that would increase exponentially should that occur.
Thanksgiving here in the States will perhaps be even more meaningful as we pause to acknowledge our freedoms and our blessings. May we consider how we might effectively work to ensure that all people everywhere have reasons to be thankful that are based on mutual respect and a desire for peace.
